The How Osteopathic Clinic

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy or Traditional Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment of the damaged areas of the body which emphasises the role of the musculoskeletal system (muscles, joints, nerves and ligaments) in maintaining the wellbeing of the individual. Osteopathic treatment uses gentle manipulative techniques to correct and realign the body and stimulate its own healing processes.

Although Osteopathy is most commonly associated with the treatment of back pain and is particularly effective in alleviating the symptoms and causes of sports related injuries and work strain, it is also used to treat a wide range of other disorders.

Treatment is non-invasive, drug free and suitable for all ages and conditions.

Osteopathy can assist with a wide range of conditions including:
  • Back and neck pain
  • Joint pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sciatica and referred pain
  • Headaches and migraines
